Recent News 2008 November 18, 2008, Dr. Progri, Giftet President and CEO,
attended the exceptionally good webinar on the "Out on the Frontier: A Day in the Life of 2028," by
GPS World Editor in Chief, Alan Cameron. It is hoped that by 2028 the position accuracy will be
seamless 10 cm or less everywhere, less than 1 sec cold start, and very low cost consumer grade
receivers. These requirements can only be met with assisted, multifunctional, multi-frequency
receivers. November 6, 2008, Dr. Progri, Giftet President and CEO,
attended the fabulous Los Angeles County Small Business “Contracting Connections”
special networking event hosted by Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, Third District, County of Los Angeles.
This event will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at
The Sportsmen’s Lodge, 12833 Ventura Boulevard, Studio City, CA 91604. This was a perfect opportunity

» July 1, 2008, The Office of Space Commercialization
issued a Notice for Public Comment based on the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) proposal to discontinue
supporting P(Y) codeless/semi-codeless on both GPS L1 and L2 frequencies on modernized satellites
(Block IIR-M, Block IIF, and Block IIIA/B/C) beginning December 31, 2020. As the result, after 2020,
legacy dual-frequency receivers may still work, but the DoD would no longer assure that P(Y) power levels
and the navigation message would remain the same.
